Resilience After Change

We tracked Resilience-dimension scores for churches with a documented disruptive event in the prior 18 months — a staff departure, a building program, a merger — and measured time-to-baseline against pre-event scores.

Churches under 200 attendees returned to baseline in roughly half the time of churches over 1,000. Tradition and region showed no meaningful effect once size was accounted for. The likely mechanism is distance, not culture: fewer layers between a decision and the people affected by it means faster feedback and faster correction.
